Team Too Much
In Exodus, Moses and Aaron were taking up an offering for the building of God’s sanctuary and needed the people to give. Not only did the people give what was needed—they gave too much. God’s offering overflowed with generosity. The people gave in abundance.
Exodus 25:1-9 KJV
1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering.
3 And this is the offering which ye shall take of them; gold, and silver, and brass,
4 And blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats' hair,
5 And rams' skins dyed red, and badgers' skins, and shittim wood,
6 Oil for the light, spices for anointing oil, and for sweet incense,
7 Onyx stones, and stones to be set in the ephod, and in the breastplate.
8 And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.
9 According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it.
We are called to operate as a Team Too Much. God’s house should never go without or lack anything. The children of God must rise up with a Too Much mentality. Whatever the church needs or desires should come from an overflow—an abundance—of support, love, service, and giving.
Every company, organization, and business has systems and procedures in place to operate successfully. What if the Church operated with that same level of structure and intention? The blueprint has already been laid out for Christians in God’s Word. Being a giver in the House of God is an underrated gift, but in truth, it is one of the most powerful connections to Heaven’s door.
How many churches can you count in one city, one town, one community? In many areas, you can drive just five miles and pass at least ten churches. But here’s the truth: All churches are part of the Body of Christ. Let’s say that again—all churches are part of the same Body.
If we are the Church, and we are all operating under Kingdom principles, then our outcome should be unified and powerful. So why don’t we see the full effectiveness of the Church? Why isn’t the power of the Body of Christ as visible as it should be?
Too often, the Church operates like a single individual instead of a covenant couple—no longer joined with our fellow churches for the greater good of God’s Kingdom. The Church has become like a single mother or father doing the best they can with what they have. But the real strength lies in unity. Just as the enemy hates marriage, he also hates the unity of God’s people working together.
The Church must be more than a Sunday gathering for worship. It should be the epicenter of the community. Though man has attempted to separate church from state, the truth is—the Church is the state. God’s people, filled with the Spirit, should be at the forefront of every boardroom, every council, every place of decision-making.
No longer should the Church be silent. No longer should it shrink back in fear or strive to be politically correct. A united Church under God is more powerful than the Senate, Congress, the Presidency, or Parliament. When God’s people truly understand that the same power and authority that exists in Heaven has been given to us here on Earth—then we will see lasting change in our homes, our communities, and the world.
We are the children of the Most High. We walk in His authority.
Exodus 36:3–7 (KJV):
“And they received of Moses all the offering, which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of the sanctuary... And they brought yet unto him free offerings every morning... The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work, which the Lord commanded to make... So the people were restrained from bringing. For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much.”
When churches are led by biblical principles and faithfully teach the Word of God, people will surrender their lives to the Lord of Hosts. Sermons will no longer rely on emotional punchlines but be rooted in the living Word. People will operate in faith and authority, and with a heart posture that says: I am part of Team Too Much.
They won’t have to be manipulated or coerced into giving. True followers of Yahweh will give freely, serve joyfully, and share their spiritual gifts without hesitation. A Team Too Much disciple responds lovingly and willingly to the call of God. And that call will pierce the soul of every born-again believer.
We are called to be Team Too Much. Our brothers and sisters in the faith should not be living in lack when the Body of Christ is filled with the abundance that our Creator has poured out over each and every one of us.
